Project Details: Opened in 1996, it was the largest mixed-use project in Europe, built on land reclaimed from an industrial site.

Description: CentrO is a unique mixture of leisure, sport, dining and shopping facilities. It was completed in a record 2 years following one year of site clearance, demolition and environmental abatement.

The facility includes a 20-acre Tivoli style leisure park linked by bridges across the man-made canal to the centers promenade. The 2-story, 750,000 SF shopping center has over 200 retail outlets. The mall is completely covered by skylights and has 3 fountains. The food court includes 22 fast-food outlets. Outside, the promenade is flanked by 28 restaurants, including Planet Hollywood.

The center also includes an 540,000 SF multipurpose arena and hockey rink that seats 11,500 spectators, 65,000 SF of commercial office space, and structured parking for 10,500 automobiles.
