4th Floor Upfit and Reconfiguration of Existing Space
Description:
The Charlotte School of Law occupied their new building in August 2008. Due to the growth of enrollment, the school will lease an additional floor of their existing building a year ahead of schedule. Classroom space and capacity was a priority for the upfit. The largest classroom built on the floor will seat up to 200 students. This room also is equipped with a Skyfold partition than can divide the space into 2 separate classrooms. Two other classrooms can double as practice courtrooms.
In addition to the 9 classrooms built on the floor, the school added faculty offices, student organizational space, an Adjunct Suite and a suite that houses the Center for Professional Development. Other work included additional study rooms built on the 2nd floor and two offices that were converted to study rooms on the 3rd floor which increased the study room count from 12 to 17. The total count of classrooms has increased from 8 to 17 and seating capacity has increased from 628 to 1224, a total increase of 596 seats.
